The patient has been injured in the area of the knee ? a simple hit in the knee. The peroneal nerve has been damaged which resulted in loss of active dorsal flexion and progressive horse-deformed alignment of the foot. The patient suffered for many years.

She used all sorts of ortheses and  followed doctor?s non-surgical advice. The effect was bad. She was not able to set her foot on the ground. There was contraction of the foot and toes towards the medial side of the foot. She walked with difficulty using elbow crutches. I operated her twice.

I moved the attachments of the tibialis anterior and posterior muscle to the edge of the foot. I lengthened the proper tendons (toe flexors and Achilles tendon). This resulted in the possibility of dorsal flexion of the foot.

The patient now walks without crutches, without pain and periodically uses an orthesis.
